How to Build Good Habits and Break Bad Ones

Have you too wondered what it would be like to actually build good habits and break bad ones? Or How you can change your life by just changing your habits? I know it sounds pretty tiring but once you make these changes in your life, these changes can grow into life-altering outcomes.

I am not talking about totally changing your way of living or being a monk. Simple and small changes can transform your life. Did you know that if you can get 1% better each day for one year, you’ll end up 37 times better by the time you’re done? Fascinating right?

This is what James Clear has been telling us about in his book, “Atomic Habits.” James shares his life story that how bringing small changes into his life, he made his life better and how if we follow his teachings, we can also make our life better.

There’s a quote I love from his book which goes, “Success is the product of daily habits not once-in-a-lifetime transformation.” Where James tells us to improve daily and not be in any kind of haste towards success. The more passive we are towards learning, the more concrete the results will be.

Apart from all the lessons in this book, there are a ton of ways to get your life back on track and to do that you have to be motivated and not lose hope. Here are some of the best-selling books which can help you achieve a better life with good habits:

  • The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg
  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey
  • Good Habits, Bad Habits by Wendy Wood
  • Mindset by Carol Dweck
  • Deep Work by Cal Newport

And more.

Atomic Habits is still underrated despite all the exposure it gets. It’s quite honestly the most effective book one can read out there. Along with Psychocybernetics. Good article.
